Enshore Subsea achieves Level 3 Safety Culture Ladder certification, reinforcing commitment to safety leadership

Enshore Subsea has successfully achieved Level 3 certification under the Safety Culture Ladder (SCL 2.0), marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to safety, wellbeing and responsible project delivery.

The Safety Culture Ladder is an internationally recognised standard that assesses how organisations embed safety into everyday behaviours, leadership, and decision-making — not just policies and procedures. Originating in the Netherlands, SCL 2.0 is a highly rigorous safety culture standard used within major infrastructure and energy projects. Its interview-led assessment makes Level 3 certification a meaningful marker of behavioural and leadership maturity.

Achieving Level 3 demonstrates that safety is proactively managed and consistently integrated across the organisation, with people empowered to speak up, challenge unsafe situations, and learn collectively.

The certification was awarded following a comprehensive, interview-based assessment carried out by LRQA, involving employees from across the business. The assessment examined multiple aspects of Enshore’s safety culture, including leadership, skills and knowledge, internal processes, collaboration with external partners, and continuous improvement.

Pierre Boyde, Enshore Subsea CEO, said: “Achieving Level 3 on the Safety Culture Ladder is an important moment for Enshore. It reflects a collective commitment across the business to creating an environment where safety is not just a priority, but a shared value that shapes how we work every day. We’re proud of this progress and are equally clear that this is part of a longer journey of continuous improvement.”

Unlike traditional, system-focused safety standards, SCL 2.0 places strong emphasis on behaviours, mindset and organisational openness. Certification relies heavily on in-depth interviews rather than documentation alone, making it a rigorous and highly transparent process.

Enshore will now move into the next phase of its safety culture journey, using the insights from the assessment to further strengthen leadership engagement, collaboration, and learning across the organisation. As part of the programme, Enshore will be reassessed annually to ensure continued progress and maturity.

This achievement further underlines Enshore’s commitment to delivering complex infrastructure projects safely, responsibly and sustainably — for its people, partners, and clients.
