The CMOS Installer welcomed VIP visitors onboard recently as part of a celebration of the subsea cable project milestone.
To mark the project milestone arrival of 3,333 tons of subsea cable to Dakar we were delighted to welcome onto the CMOS Installer Meissa Diakhate, Director of the Minister’s Office for Energy, Petroleum, and Mines, and Mr. Michael Raynor, the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Senegal.
The delegation, which visited the DP2 cable lay vessel on Monday October 7th, also included Mr. Oumar Diop, CEO of MCA-Sénégal II; Ms. Molly Glenn, Resident Country Director of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC); Mr. Papa Toby Gaye, CEO of Senelec; and Haut Commandant du Port, M. Ibrahima Diaw.
The CMOS Installer, owned in joint venture between Enshore Subsea and Herbosch-Kiere, brings to Senegal the subsea cable which will provide an underwater link across the Bay of Dakar, from Rive Bel Air to Cap Des Biches, for client MCA-Sénégal II for the MCC Senegal Power Compact submarine cable project.
“It was a pleasure to welcome our visitors onboard the CMOS Installer and to show them the subsea cable cargo the vessel is carrying,” said Frederic Bost, Director of Major Projects for Enshore Subsea. “The delivery of the cable in Senegal is a major milestone of the project and a unique opportunity to celebrate the achievement of efficient teamwork between MCA-Sénégal II, the Engineer, and the two JV partners, Enshore Subsea and Herbosch-Kiere. This cable will be the backbone of a new power distribution infrastructure that will enhance economic growth and reduce poverty in Senegal and Enshore is proud to contribute to this ambitious international project.”
