Investing in people in Senegal

On July 1st, Dakar Marine Link — the joint venture between Enshore Subsea and Herbosch-Kiere — hosted an inspiring event in Dakar. The focus? Investing in people as much as in infrastructure

Over the past year, Dakar Marine Link successfully delivered the installation of two subsea power cables in the Bay of Dakar, commissioned by MCA-Sénégal II. But the real story lies beyond the cables.

Through a combination of training, internships, and collaboration with local partners, this project became a platform for opportunity — opening doors for young Senegalese professionals to grow their skills and play a key role in their country’s energy future.

Pierre Boyde, Enshore Subsea CEO said: “Through Dakar Marine Link, Enshore and Herbosch-Kiere have helped lead a joint effort that goes beyond engineering — combining technical excellence with a commitment to empowering local talent. We’re proud to play a key role in making a lasting, positive impact in the communities where we operate.”

The event brought together:

📌 Government leaders
📌 Industry stakeholders
📌 Talented youth forging their careers

From powerful testimonies to bold conversations about inclusive growth, the day highlighted what happens when infrastructure meets purpose.

Thank you to Desiree Zwanck and Arona Camara from the Dakar Marine Link team for all their work pulling the event together!
